Established in 1985, HB Environmental is an HSE-licensed asbestos specialist supporting homeowners, businesses and major projects. Based in Ilkeston, our experienced team works across the Midlands and delivers larger commercial projects throughout the UK.

Over four decades, HB has developed an experienced team capable of supporting asbestos projects at every scale – from a homeowner who has discovered a suspected material to major commercial, public-sector, demolition and remediation programmes.
Asbestos is our specialist area. Our capabilities span surveys and sampling, licensed and non-licensed removal, remediation, encapsulation, decontamination, waste disposal, consultancy and emergency response.
Behind every HB project is a team of people with different specialist skills.
- Our customer support team is often the first point of contact. We understand that customers do not always know what type of asbestos they have, what service they need or even whether the material they have found contains asbestos. We listen to the problem, gather the information available and help establish the appropriate next step.
- Our surveying team can inspect properties, carry out asbestos surveys and take samples where required, with samples sent to specialist laboratories for analysis.
- Where asbestos work is required, our project and contract management team takes the job from initial assessment through planning and delivery to completion. That can include site visits, quotations, risk assessments and plans of work, programme planning, statutory requirements, coordination with clients and contractors, and management of the asbestos teams working on site.
- Our experienced supervisors and asbestos operatives then deliver the physical works using the controls appropriate to the material, property and project.
That joined-up approach means customers have one specialist team supporting them from the first question through to final completion.
