What We Do
Industrial and infrastructure environments can contain some of the most technically challenging asbestos conditions encountered in the built environment.
HB Insulations provides specialist asbestos services for manufacturing facilities, factories, engineering sites, utilities, depots, infrastructure assets, industrial estates, redevelopment sites and complex remediation projects.
Older industrial buildings and plant can contain asbestos in pipe lagging, thermal insulation, sprayed coatings, AIB, gaskets, machinery, plant rooms, roofs and cladding, alongside contamination created by historic deterioration or previous works.
Unlike an empty building, many industrial and infrastructure sites need to remain operational while work takes place. Production, live services, restricted access, permits, shutdown windows, security and interfaces with other contractors can all influence how the asbestos programme is planned.
HB works with clients to understand these constraints and develop a site-specific solution.
From Plant Maintenance to Major Remediation Programmes
Projects can range from the removal of asbestos from one item of plant or an isolated maintenance area to long-duration licensed removal and remediation programmes across substantial sites.
Asbestos contamination can also extend beyond a building. Historic demolition, buried materials or fragmented ACMs can create wider remediation requirements associated with redevelopment and brownfield sites.
In these situations, HB can work with the client’s consultants, demolition contractors and remediation specialists to understand the asbestos risk and deliver the relevant asbestos work package.
For large projects, our role can extend from early investigation and planning through mobilisation, removal, remediation, waste management and phased handover.
