What We Do
Asbestos discovered during construction or refurbishment can stop work, disrupt programme and create significant additional cost if it has not been properly identified and planned for.
HB Insulations works with main contractors, developers, refurbishment contractors, fit-out specialists, project managers and consultants to manage asbestos before and during construction projects.
Our involvement can begin during pre-construction planning by reviewing available asbestos information and understanding which parts of the existing building will be affected by the proposed works.
Where intrusive refurbishment is planned, the correct asbestos information needs to be available before the building fabric is disturbed.
Once the asbestos requirement is understood, HB can help develop a practical scope and programme for any necessary removal or remediation.
As an HSE-licensed asbestos contractor, we undertake both licensed and non-licensed work and can manage projects from straightforward enabling works through to complex, multi-phase asbestos packages.
Asbestos Enabling Works That Support The Wider Programme
On larger schemes, sequencing is critical. Asbestos works may need to release rooms, floors or buildings progressively so that strip-out, demolition, M&E, fit-out or structural work can follow.
HB works with the wider project team to understand these interfaces and develop a methodology that supports the construction programme.
Where unexpected suspected asbestos is encountered, our emergency response capability can help establish what has been found, isolate the issue, arrange sampling where necessary and develop an appropriate solution.
